Two local theater organizations are preparing for upcoming productions.
Auditions will be held February 26 and 27 for Byron Civic Theatre's "Ring of Fire," based on the life of country music legend Johnny Cash. The musical will recount a section of Cash's life in 38 musical numbers. At the center of the show are six principals paired off to make three couples: young, middle-aged and older Johnny and June. Another couple will take on the roles of other people in Cash’s life.
Add to that, eight musicians playing keyboards, guitars, upright bass, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, dobro, drums and a host of other instruments, also integral to the cast. The show will be performed April 19-21 and 26-28. Those interested in either the band or the cast should go to www.bctmagic.com to read the requirements, then email firstname.lastname@example.org with their information. Auditions will be held in the Green Room of the new Middle School Theatre.
